Pharmed and BioPlus Mourn the Loss of Visionary Leader Krishan Kumar Aurora

It is with profound grief that Pharmed Limited and BioPlus Group share the demise of Mr. Krishan Kumar Aurora, a stalwart of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry. Mr. Aurora, who was Chairman Emeritus of Pharmed Limited, passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 88.

Renowned for his humility, grit, and transformative leadership, Mr. Aurora was a pioneer who dedicated his life to creating impactful change in the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry. Under his stewardship, Pharmed and BioPlus Group became synonymous with innovation, quality, and excellence, earning accolades from healthcare providers.

Mr. Aurora’s illustrious career spanned over six decades. After graduating from Bombay University, he began his journey as an accountant with A.F. Fergusons, followed by Boots Pure Drug Co. (India) Ltd. In 1961, he started his remarkable tenure at Smith Kline & French (India) Ltd., and rose to become Managing Director and later International Vice President for Southeast Asia.

In 1973, Mr. Aurora joined the Executive Committee of the Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI) and played a pivotal role in tackling key industry challenges, driving impactful changes that strengthened the pharmaceutical landscape. As the President of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (1988-89), he spearheaded significant initiatives, including setting up the Chamber’s first office in Bangalore. He also successfully advocated for industrial reliefs on taxes and levies for captive power generation.

In 1990, Mr. Aurora took over Pharmed Limited, transforming it into a trusted and respected name in the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry. In 2023, the Karnataka Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Manufacturers Association honored his unparalleled contributions to the pharmaceutical industry. This honor celebrated his unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Mr. Aurora’s legacy continues through his sons, Sundeep Aurora, Sunjeev Aurora, and Suneet Aurora, who uphold his values and leadership at BioPlus Group and Pharmed Limited. His vision will remain a beacon of inspiration for all.
